| Meet the people of Lookout Mountain CASA |
| A terrific CASA family produces a terrific program, and Lookout Mountain CASA has a reputation for working with exceptional CASAs and Advisory Board Members. Leaders are brought on board for their experience, good judgment, adaptability, sense of humor, and affection for improving the lives of foster children in Dade, Walker and Catoosa Counties. Our CASA and Board Members are teachers, librarians, college graduates, physical therapists, authors, world travelers, managers, business owners, professors, health care professionals, retired military, artists and outstanding individuals. They bring tremendous enthusiasm to the work they do, they are non-judgemental, objective and proactive individuals who are committed to the children we advocate for and demonstrate a willingness to put the needs and interests of the children first. |

Barbara Beckman - CASA Volunteer since April 2006 |
| Barbara Beckman has a Degree in Early Childhood Education. You may know her from the Chickamauga Public Library where she works as a Librarian. While living in Great Britain with her family, she volunteered at the Christian Heritage Center. Her daughter, who interned at the National council for adoption this summer, encouraged her to become a CASA volunteer. |

Bethany Carlton - CASA Volunteer since November 2007 |
Bethany Carlton is finishing her senior year at Covenant College where she is pursuing a degree in sociology with an interpersonal counseling concentration. In her free time, Bethany enjoys running and other outdoor activities. She is involved with volunteer work for Young Life Chattanooga and helps out with the Baylor School’s high school girls’ cross country team. She has interned with Lookout Mountain CASA for the past several months.

William (Bill) Hales, Jr. - CASA Volunteer since November 2007 |
William (Bill) Hales, Jr. is married to Margaret Hales. He has three children, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He attends the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fort Oglethorpe. He graduated from Mankato State University with a B.S. in English and from the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque with a Ph.D. in Educational Administration. He retired from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he was a professor of Educational Administration. His hobbies include traveling, camping, and reading and learning about things that make a difference. |

Bob Thompson - CASA Volunteer since November 2006 |
| Bob Thompson graduated with a degree in History and served in the army as a surgical assistant. He enjoys running, biking and singing. He recently made an appearance on PBS with the Scenic City Chior. |

Carleena Angwin - Program Director |
| Carleena Angwin graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ithaca College. She worked with at-risk youth as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Panama and taught ESL at a University in Oaxaca, Mexico. She enjoys yoga, sudoku and latin dancing. |

| Denise Park has served on a number of boards including Habitat for Humanity where she was the fundraising chairman. Denise graduated from the first Lookout Mountain CASA pre-service training and is presently completing a degree in Human Services |

| Diane Pelt holds a degree in Criminal Justice. She’s spent 34 years working for the state system as a Deputy Ward. She is also an avid volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America. |

Donna Christol - CASA Volunteer since April 2006 |
| Donna Christol has a masters degree in Early Childhood Education and a specialist degree in Leadership and Administration. She is a retired teacher in Walker County, but you will still find her in the schools, teaching. She has been a foster grandparent and is a Delta Kappa Gamma sister. |

Garnette Thomas - CASA Volunteer since November 2007 |
Garnette Thomas has been married to Ivan Thomas for 25 years. She has two sons, Ivan Jr. 23 and Zachery 22. She enjoys helping people and has been on the mission field to East Africa, Haiti and Israel. Her hobbies include hunting, basketball and running. She has a degree as a paralegal and is looking forward to attending law school some day. |

Jane Everett is married to Joseph P. Everett, a teacher retired from Chattanooga State. They have two daughters and six precious grandchildren. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, Florida State and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a retired high school teacher and guidance counselor. She is a former coordinator of the Catoosa Family Collaborative and Teen Council. She is currently a member of Ringgold Kiwanis and First Baptist Church Chattanooga. |

Jennifer Kammerer graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Masters in Industrial/Organization Psychology. She presently works as a business consultant for a large corporate travel management company. She enjoys belly dancing, tennis, gardening, and spending time with her family. |

| Kristie Taylor graduated with the first group of CASA in April 2006. She has a Masters of Education and was an elementary school teacher in Dade county. She loves to travel and has been to all but two continents. |

Linda Turner - CASA Volunteer since November 2007 |
Linda Turner is married to Jason Turner and they have two sons. She graduated from Columbus State Community as a registered nurse. Her hobbies include spending time with children and watching lots of high school football. She is a member of Boynton United Methodist Church. |

Margaret Hales - CASA Volunteer since November 2007 |
Margaret Hales is married to Bill Hales. She has five grown children, twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She attends the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Fort Oglethorpe. She is retired from the medical field, as well as the food industry where she owned and operated restaurants in central Florida. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling, walking on the beach and enjoying the beauty and cultures of people. She enjoys watching football and NASCAR. She feels that her life experiences will enhance her ability to work with children, to be able to keep an open mind and to focus on the rights of the children and what is best for them. |

Margaret Park graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a B.S. degree in Social Work. She retired from the Division of Public Health after twenty five years. She also served as the Executive Director of Georgia Public Health Association. She was recently awarded the James Alley Award for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement in Rural Health. She is a member of the Lions Club and Luthersville United Methodist Church. Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, bird watching and woodworking. |

Marie Waldon is a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital. Before working at Memorial, she worked in the pediatric field for eleven years. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and she has recently developed a love for skydiving. |

| Marlene Clopton was drawn to the CASA program because her daughter is a CASA in Colorado. Marlene has a Masters in Social Work from Michigan State and was a former Montessori School teacher. While in Michigan, she worked at the children's aid society, supervising foster care and offering adoptive services. |

| Norma Clark has a Business Degree from UTC and has owned her own business for 35 years. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Home Chamblis Shelter and Habitat for Humanity. She’s spent 50 years of her life Volunteering for children. |

| Ron Reese has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alabama. He’s lived and worked extensively in Venezuela and Mexico where he learned Spanish. |

| Shayna Scott is a recent graduate of the CASA pre-service training. She brings experience as a case worker for DFCS. She served on Community Kitchen's Board of Directors as well as several boards at church. Additionally, Ms. Scott has a Bachelor of Social Work and a background in the mental health field |

| Tammy Crane is a Special Education teacher in Dade Elementary School and so multi-faceted they often ask her to fill in as school nurse. |

| Dr. Jack Beckman holds a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge in England. He is currently a professor at Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia |

Carolyn Bradford - Advisory Board Member |
| Carolyn Bradford is the Court Administrator for the Juvenile Court in Dade County as well as an active member of the Citizen Panel Review. She serves on the board of Education in Dade County. |

Vickie Mason - Advisory Board Member |
| Vickie Mason is a physical therapist in Catoosa County. She volunteered at the Outpatient Department of Memorial Hospital and served as PTO President at her children's school. Vickie graduated from the first CASA pre-service training. |

| Steven Llorca graduated from UGA with a BFA degree in Graphic Design. He is the Creative Director for a magazine and internet publishing company specializing in automotive titles. In his spare time he enjoys photography, outdoor activities, and spending time with his dog Cooper. |
