Roles and Responsibilities
• Assisting with the recruitment and training of volunteers (writing articles for local newspapers, processing volunteer paperwork, attending volunteer outreach events, responding to inquiries about volunteering);
• Helping with the intake of new cases (compiling files, drafting summaries);
• Supporting Program Director (attending court, administrative case reviews, assisting with the CASA Volunteer Trainings and attending other meetings; following up with volunteers on issues related to their cases);
• Assisting with fundraising, preparing mailings, grant writing
• Completing other duties as assigned. |

Description:
Our internship is an unpaid position, but provides excellent experience to a student interested in law, volunteer administration, or social services. A CASA internship provides you with the opportunity to learn about development and fundraising techniques in a friendly and professional environment. You will be introduced to a leading not-for-profit organization and gain exposure to issues such as child abuse and neglect along with the impact we can make. |
Eligibility:
Open to college Juniors and Seniors. |
Requirements:
Interns must have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to advocating for children, as well as a professional demeanor. Interns must be flexible and willing to conduct fieldwork in a variety of settings with a diverse group of people. Court and Panel Review appearances are often required, flexible schedule including some Monday or Thursday evening hours a plus. Interns must be open-minded, creative, and a go-getter. |
